Common opener problems in Chattanooga homes
Stripped main drive gear (the classic LiftMaster and Chamberlain failure—motor runs, chain or belt doesn't move). Burned-out logic boards from summer thunderstorm power surges. Misaligned safety sensors with a blinking LED that prevent the door from closing. Worn-out remote and keypad batteries or de-programmed receivers. Limit switches set incorrectly so the door reverses just before it seats. Capacitors that fail and let the motor hum without enough torque to lift the door.
Less common but very fixable: bent rail, broken belt or chain, loose carriage trolley, blown power supply, and AC capacitor failures specific to older 1/2 HP units.
