Why doors come off track in Chattanooga
The four causes we see over and over: a vehicle backing into the door (more common than you'd think—usually a quick bumper tap that doesn't dent the panel but pops the rollers out of track), worn nylon or steel rollers that finally shatter and let the door drop, a snapped lift cable that lets one side of the door sag and pull free, and bent track from objects falling against the wall or improperly installed bracing.
Older Chattanooga homes—especially ones with original 1990s tracks and steel rollers—are particularly prone to off-track failures because the rollers wear unevenly and the track lips spread over time.
